![]() ![]() Honestly, the reason I didn’t completely love this book was Juliette herself. ![]() It actually felt a lot like a paranormal romance to me-only with superpowers instead of vampires! Personally, I felt that they both had their good and bad qualities, and this book has really conflicted me on which side I am! This book was full of romance-it felt even more romancy than its predecessor, and I often felt like the greater issue of the war was pushed to the background in favor of Juliette moping about her love life. We also get insight on why both Adam and Warner can touch Juliette, and the differences between them. But here, we start to get deeper insight on who he really is beneath his cruel exterior, and how his merciless father has pushed him to become himself. Then there’s Warner, the cruel, ruthless leader who pushed Juliette to torture a helpless child and has shot a man without a second thought. He cares about her and wants to keep her safe at all costs he’s the boy who helped bring her to Omega Point in the first place. ![]() There’s Adam, the first boy who ever really saw and loved Juliette. The world is changing, a rebellion is rising to give way to a war, and she has to be prepared. She’s been broken by her life, and has to face the harsh reality that nobody is going to wait around for her to mope and cry alone. Unravel Me picks up right where Shatter Me left off, with Juliette in Omega Point learning to harness her gift among other gifted people-though none quite so powerful as she. She’s always been alone in the world, isolated for her “gift.” But not anymore-now she has allies who she needs more than ever in the broken world. One touch of Juliette is enough to torture someone, crush them, kill them. “Sticks and stones keep breaking my bones but these words, these words will kill me.” And perhaps these new allies can help her shed light on the secret behind Adam’s-and Warner’s-immunity to her killer skin. Juliette will finally be able to actively fight against The Reestablishment and try to fix her broken world. She and Adam were able to escape Warner’s clutches and join up with a group of rebels, many of whom have powers of their own. ![]() But his mysterious immunity to her deadly power has left her shaken, wondering why her ultimate defense mechanism failed against the person she most needs protection from. My favorite line was Ashlyn referring herself as a"Drooling sex addict." I'll given the author credit she did provide some delicious smexy scenes.Goodreads Summary: It should have taken Juliette a single touch to kill Warner. So, in my opinion the book was good but it could have been even better. I was definitely left wanting more and hope the second book will help the storyline continue to grow. I considered giving it 4 stars, but the ending of the book which again felt rushed and left many things not answered for me. I felt that we were given only pieces, but mostly left us in the dark about some important information, considering both plot and characters. Overall, this story had real potential but needed more character development. Ashlyn, a doctorate student, was studying amnesia and looking for a test subject to aid her research for her thesis. He is being held in police custody at the hospital because he is the prime suspect for the murder, even though he has no memory of what happened or even what his name is. He couldn't remember anything and no one knew who he was or where he came from. a hot guy with dissociative amnesia who was found at the scene of a murder. This story began with an interesting premise. It had loads of sizzling chemistry! The main characters were drawn together like magnets, in spite of the inappropriateness of their relationship. Unravel Me is one of those stories that’s not perfect, but you like it anyhow for pure entertainment purposes. New Adult romance fans will go crazy over this book because it has the perfect combination of story and sex. I know that I'm only supposed to be the adviser to your program and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it. I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact. The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You were attractive, smart and witty-and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days. Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date. ![]()
